2018 Farm Series SRG – Semillon Riesling Gewurztraminer $20

2018 Farm Series SRG – Semillon Riesling Gewurztraminer $20

One of our oldest blends has been tweaked by the winemakers with the addition of 17% Gewurztraminer. The 2018 Semillon Riesling Gewurztraminer is a fruity style that has aromatics of rose water, straw and lychee which are followed with citrus, zesty lemon, spice characters, a lively spritz and a nice balanced sweetness to finish. Perfect for summer drinking!

The Farm Series caricatures were created by local Mudgee artist, Sam Paine, and reflect the animals that can be found on the Stein farm here in Mudgee.

“A gently fruity wine with freshness and restraint. Deliciously lemony with pleasing weight and texture. Gentle spice adds interest. A cleansing wine, only 10% alcohol, with good character.” Toni Paterson MW, The Real Review

“One whiff and the impact of the Gewurtz in the blend is obvious. A white ready go chow down some Thai, Malaysia or something with a little spice kick. Aromas of rose water and Turkish Delight flood the mouth with lavender and some apricot. Dry, soft textural feels caress the mouth. Some fruit sweetness hovers but refreshing and crisp acidity closes out a good wine to enjoy with a meal.” QWine

“Clocking in at a mere 10% alcohol, it’s more akin to something like a frizzante wine, a light spritz combined with some retained sugars gives both a minerally liveliness and textural weight and width from the sweetness. Nice lighter take.” The Vinsomniac, July 2019

“…A very neat package indeed.” Words from a Wineglass

“This is another quirkily playful blend from Jacob Stein and team. It is fragrant, floral, zippy with a hint of spritz. The typical GT aromatics come to the fore both on nose and palate… A refreshing drop for this current heat wave.” The Grape Hunter

“Such an aromatic experience: the Gewurz pushes up the lychee and rose water, the Riesling with a hint of fly spray and lime while the Semillon tells everyone else to chill the actual f**k out with austere citrus. It’s light and refreshing on the palate. Low in alcohol, with little pockets of flavor like Starburst lollies to keep it interesting, this is very much a luncheon sunshine wine.” Vinonotebook, Regan Drew

“Robert Stein is one of our favourite vineyards in the Mudgee region of NSW. The blend is pale yellow colour with green hues and aromas of citrus and passionfruit. The palate is clean and fresh with lime juice and green apple flavours, a lively spritz and a sweetish finish.” Have a go News, Frank Smith, Apr 2019
