2018 Farm Series Riesling
2018 Farm Series Riesling
The fruit for this Riesling was selected from younger blocks in the Mudgee Region. This style of Riesling delivers deliciously
attractive citrus flavours that roll on to a refreshing and lingering finish. Well suited to shellfish and all seafood, like oysters and prawns with fresh lemon. A brilliant aperitif wine.
REVIEWS & AWARDS
“A youthful, bright, citrus-scented nose. High acidity and a bright, lemony palate. The palate is tight and youthful. Good purity and varietal definition. Needs a little time to grow.” Toni Paterson MW, The Real Review.
“A delicate, restrained, floral wine which is dry but not steely, and quite aromatic. Nice up-front style.” Huon Hooke, The Real Review
“Now there’s a nice synergy, 2018, $18 and you have 18 degrees to enjoy it. Invite 18 friends over for an autumn party. 18/20.” Max Crus, Daily Examiner, Mar 2019
“Good aromas gets the ball rolling with citrus characters (mainly lemons/limes) and a touch floral. Riesling to a ‘T’ so far and worth getting excited about. There’s some good citrusy characters on the palate too with some nice texture and gentle acid…” Words from a Wineglass, Feb 2019
“…Buy more of wines such as this, and less Kiwi sauvignon blanc. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the difference.” eGlobal News & Travel, John Rozentals.
“It ticks the floral, citrus and slight residual sweetness boxes that allows it to be a palate-pleasing drop. A very well-made refreshing Riesling well-suited to the current warm weather & a good match to salads and seafood dishes.” The Grape Hunter
“Dry rieslings continue to offer some of the best-value wine drinking in Australia and this new release from talented young Jacob Stein in Mudgee is a very good example… extremely impressive with lime and grapefruit notes to the fore and a crisp, minerally acid finish allied to the merest hint of fruit sweetness. Made from young vines in a stellar vintage, this would pair impressively with Thai and Vietnamese stir fries, or as a refreshing back porch quaffer after a tough day at work.” WinsorDobbin.com.au
“With a “touch of sweetness” this offers lime/lemon curd-brulee, musk stick, green candy apple and a touch of fly spray. Ticks the reisling boxes. Has good length and purity of flavor, albeit padded with the residual sugar. Acidity is bright and in check. Excellent value. Rating: 17.75.” Vinonotebook, Regan Drew, Mar 2019
“…this shows floral and citrus on the nose and palate, with a crisp acid finish. It’s great by itself but would also go well with fresh seafood or chicken kebabs.” Courier Mail, Mike Frost, Mar 2019
